Candida Felli
Archaeologist, anthropologist

She is an archaeologist of the Ancient Near East who graduated at the University of Florence; after having received her M. Phil. in Assyriology at the University of Cambridge, she obtained her Doctorate in Mesopotamian Studies at the Istituto Universitario Orientale in Naples and her specialization in Archaeology at the University of Pisa. Her main research interests are funerary practices and death rituals in Syria and Mesopotamia and the use of images in Ancient Near Eastern Art. She has a long experience of excavations at a number of sites in Syria and is actually heading the project of publication of the catalogue of the Pontifical Biblical Institute held at the Vaticans Museum.
